Brimfield Antique Show with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint
Brimfield Antique Show is just three weeks away and we are BUSY finishing pieces with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. I am also sewing cushions, pillows, bags, slipcovers and doing furniture repairs and boy, I wish I had more time!!!.
We do several Flea Markets and Shows every year so we have developed a system of how to get ready and what to bring and what not to bring to each show. If we have taken a piece to two shows and it hasn’t sold then It goes back in the workshop to be transformed. Such is the case with this kids armoire/dresser. Also it has to be a total transformation so it doesn’t look like a piece we already brought to the show.
For this piece I used miss mustard seed milk paint-color-kitchen scale Love It! What a difference!!!
The original finish on this piece was amazingly tough so I did a thorough sanding of the whole piece and I put the bonding agent in with my paint mixture. I think there was gray primer and then several coats of heavy-duty white paint and a tough varnish finish coat, so it was a job to get ready for painting! Painted the door with chalkboard paint and they put new hardware on. I whitewashed the knobs a little so they weren’t so black and darkwaxed the whole piece. I think it will sell at Brimfield in May what do you think?
