Fall Refresh of the Living Room
Have you thought about a fall refresh for your living room? I always love to add just a few things to highlight the change of seasons. When we begin to transition from summer (sadly I might add) to fall, we begin the move indoors. Even though the summer blooms are still in the garden and the harvest is in full swing, I am ready for a little Autumn refresh.
Since the house is now an Airbnb more folks come and go so it’s a chance for me to update for the changing of the seasons! I am starting with the living room. Next spring this room will get a total makeover with cream and blue. As of this writing the living room is the only room with an “autumn” color-scheme. The sleeper sofa, is burgundy, brown, gold and olive tapestry so perfect fall colors! Since this is just a small refresh, I am doing it on a budget.
New Pillow Covers
I recently discovered pillow covers! I know that seems strange for someone who is a home dec seamstress and I have made 100’s of pillow covers but I really did just discover “seasonal” pillow covers for our Airbnb. I now change the covers out a few times a year which is a new thing for me. The ones on the sofa now are off white and peach stripes for a cool summer vibe. Look at these new cozy corduroy ones! I always use down and feather inserts in my throw pillows so by just changing the covers I save $$!

When we moved some of our personal things out of the living room, I ended up with this big blank wall and I am now giving that space a bit more seasonal charm with this gorgeous wreath which overflows with leaves and berries for fall. This little fall refresh of the living room will take us from late August all the way to Thanksgiving! Then to add to the warmth a bit I’ve added this green vase with these super full yellow baby’s breath.
Coffee Table Refresh
The porch is the next place where I am going to do a fall refresh. I will be stamping and adding stencils to some more pillows as well as making a Scarecrow and some more decor to add to the fall ambience. Then I will add just a few things for Halloween to stay in the fall vibe and celebrate all the kiddos that visit on Halloween!
